Locals shine in SLO tennis tourney

Five doubles teams took first place in their respective divisions at the sixth annual SLO Junior Doubles Championships tournament Saturday at San Luis Obispo High.

The tournament was organized by skill level; children ages 10 to 18 participated.

The winners included the following: Katie Erb and Chloe Rohr (girls beginner/intermediate); Dylan and Austin Bricker (boys beginner/intermediate); Maya O’Brien and Maia Hoffman (girls advanced); Chris Wallace and Elias Jordan (boys advanced); and Olivia Madison and Noah Cleere (mixed doubles advanced).

The second-place finishers were: Lauren LaFaille and Paige Lund (boys beginner/intermediate); Ethan Weinschenk and Marcel Scheiwiller, and Roddy Burnette and Isaac Fiala (girls beginner/intermediate); Lauren Hutkin and Joelle Lewis (girls advanced); Noah Cleere and Brooks Rossi (boys advanced); and Makayla Landers and Alex Keck (mixed advanced).
