French Hospital Medical Center recently announced its new 2013-14 community and foundation boards.

The Community Board oversees the quality assessment, performance improvement, patient safety and utilization management activities of the hospital, according to a news release.

Former Pismo Beach City Manager Kevin M. Rice, who retired this year, will head the 26-person board as chairman. He will join Jim Copeland, past chairman; Patricia Gomez, vice chair; and Sandee McLaughlin, secretary.

New members on the Community Board include Wayne Simon of San Luis Obispo, Armando M. Corella of Santa Margarita and Leopold G. Selker of Morro Bay.

The Foundation Board raises funds for French Hospital through community donations. The 18-person board will be led by Chairman Pierre Rademaker, a former San Luis Obispo Citizen of the Year, and Vice Chair Reese T. Davies. There were no new members named to the 2013-14 Foundation Board.
