Second suspect in Atascadero stabbing turns himself in

A second suspect has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Atascadero.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday, Albert Ernest Moore, 35, of Atascadero turned himself in at the Atascadero Police Department, according to a news release.

On Aug. 2, officers responded to a call from Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton reporting that a man had been admitted to the emergency room with multiple stab wounds, according to a news release. Police identified two suspects and had been searching for Moore for about a week.

This past Monday, following a vehicle stop in Grover Beach, police arrested the other suspect, Michael Anthony Nunez, 24, of Atascadero, and issued an alert requesting the public’s assistance in locating Moore.

According to the news release, Moore was taken into custody Friday without incident and charged with attempted murder. He remained at San Luis Obispo County Jail on Sunday in lieu of $500,000 bail, according to the Sheriff's Office website.
