San Luis Obispo - The TribuneAugust 10, 2013

UPDATE 9 p.m.: After searching Saturday night for four lost hikers near Cuesta Ridge, authorities located the group from the air and directed them to head toward Pozo Road where they would be picked up, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

While the four hikers, all in their 20s, had not been rescued by 9 p.m., intermittent cell phone reception and the search plane that had spotted them made it possible for some communication with law enforcement.

Before they were located, the group, which includes two females and two males, had not been seen since 10. a.m. Saturday.
