Man arrested for allegedly stealing copper wire from PG&E

A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft of copper wire from PG&E’s construction yard in Templeton, sheriff’s spokesperson Tony Cipolla said.

On Wednesday at 10:45 a.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brian Christian Lindemuth, 42, of Atascadero.

Lindemuth was spotted loading items into a storage facility and was taken into custody. Lindemuth confessed to stealing the copper wire and selling it to local recycling centers, according to the Sheriff's Office.

PG&E estimated the loss to be more than $5,000. Deputies recovered 360 pounds of copper wire.

Lindemuth was booked into County Jail on three felony counts of grand theft, one felony count of receiving stolen property and one felony count of possession of methamphetamine.
