Pismo Beach police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a room at the Motel 6 in Pismo Beach.

At 9:35 a.m. Thursday, someone called 911 from the motel at 860 Fourth St., but the call was not completed, according to a news release and call logs from the Pismo Beach Police Department. Dispatchers immediately called motel management to have a room checked while officers and medics were dispatched.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been dead for more than an hour.

A female witness at the scene was taken to mental health facility for feelings of depression, police logs say. She is not a suspect in the case.

The man’s death is being called suspicious, according to police.

Investigators are trying to locate a suspect for questioning, and will release the name of the dead man after the investigation is complete, said Cmdr. Jake Miller.
