Hundreds of gunslingers expected at Chorro Valley Shootout

The 19th Annual Chorro Valley Shootout will bring more than 300 gunslingers to the range on Highway 1 this week as they compete in the largest cowboy action shooting match in the West.

Cowboy action shooting is staged “Old West” style and features firearms typical of the era: single-action revolvers, pistol-caliber lever-action rifles and old-time shotguns. The competitors adopt shooting aliases and dress in appropriate costumes.

The public is welcome to attend and view the competition, which runs daily through Sunday. For information, visit www.slosa.org.
