DUI collision sends one to hospital in SLO

An allegedly intoxicated 25-year-old man reportedly ran a red light and slammed his Cadillac into a minivan Saturday afternoon in San Luis Obispo, sending the minivan’s driver to the hospital with minor injuries, accord to authorities.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Colton M. Porter, 25, failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Santa Rosa and Monterey streets and collided with the driver’s side of the minivan, according to San Luis Obispo police.

The woman driver of the minivan was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center to treat a laceration on her arm. The four children passengers in her vehicle were not injured.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene of the collision.

Colton was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence causing injury and booked into County Jail.
