Power struggle

San Luis ObispoJuly 30, 2013

Our democratic system of local government has gradually deteriorated. Our forefathers were concerned about protecting the citizens from the system they knew was not perfect. It is necessary to prove this point. Like brothers and sisters, we are joined to the nation with inalienable rights. This law makes us responsible as free citizens to right the wrongs.

The word that represents our system of government is “democracy.” To keep a democracy under the rule of the people, the citizens need to reinstitute their constitutional laws. Benjamin Franklin was asked, “What kind of government have you given us?” His reply: “a republic, if you can keep it.” This was to say it must be revised to stay in keeping with the times. The time has come.

There is alegal power struggle between county and state governments. It is one of the main causes of our national problems. The citizens of this county should reinstitute our former system of local government. A constitutional convention is in order. Also, we should petition our legislators to place the proposition for local government on the ballot for the people to vote on.
