The southbound Highway 101 on- and off-ramp at Highway 58 in Santa Margarita will be closed in the coming weeks for ramp re-construction, according to Caltrans.

The first leg of work will take place overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday starting July 29 through Aug. 9. A 24-hour closure will then follow beginning 7 p.m. Aug. 11 for one to two weeks of ramp reconstruction.

Motorists will be detoured to the Highway 101 interchange with Santa Barbara Road to get into and out of Santa Margarita, officials said.

The roadwork is part of the Atascadero rehabilitation project, which includes the re-paving of 11 miles of Highway 101 from north of the Cuesta Grade to Traffic Way.
