'Suspicious' fires in Morro Bay under investigation

The Morro Bay Fire Department is investigating the cause of two small fires that it considers suspicious.

The department responded to 100-square-foot vegetation fire on the north side of Black Hill at 8:13 p.m. on Tuesday, and extinguished it.

While investigating the first fire, a second extinguished fire was discovered.

The fires occurred in an area adjacent to La Loma, Quintana and Balboa Roads in Morro Bay.

“Any information on vehicle descriptions, people or events in the area would be very helpful,” said Morro Bay Fire Investigator Scott Subler in a news release.

Information can be reported at 772-6242.
