Special to The TribuneJuly 24, 2013

Correction: The second annual North County Chamber of Commerce Mixer will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, for chamber members and their guests. I apologize to the chambers and to people who showed up on the wrong date. The mixer will be hosted by the combined Chambers of Commerce from San Miguel, Paso Robles, Templeton and Atascadero.

Try some pomegranate jelly

The Rios-Caledonia Adobe Gift Shop, 700 Mission St., has a few jars of popular and tasty pomegranate jelly ready for sale, although it probably won’t be there for long. The gift shop is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there are also some new treasures on the shelves.

What's coming up

Several events are being planned in the next two months: the Chamber of Commerce is holding a Rod Rally car show downtown on the weekend of Aug. 23-24. If you’re interested in participating as an entrant or a vendor call Mike Sanders at 712-9120 or see him at The San Miguel Mercantile downtown. The last Sunday in August is reserved for the Lions Club’s Old Timers Picnic in San Miguel Park. The annual San Miguel Mission Fiesta will be held on Sept. 15. The Friends of the Adobes and the Native Sons of the Golden West are hoping to inaugurate a new celebration of “Caledonia Days” at the end of September if all goes as they are planning.
