Cal Poly Roundup: Imhof picks up win for Team USA

Cal Poly pitcher Matt Imhof gave up no runs in 1 1⁄3 innings in relief to earn the win in a 3-2 victory over Cuba on Monday for Team USA. 

Imhof, who will be a junior, made his sixth appearance on the mound this summer, allowing three hits and a walk while holding Cuba scoreless. With the win, Imhof improved to 3-0 with Team USA.

The game was played at Coleman Field at the USA Baseball Training Camp in Cary, N.C. 

Team USA (20-3) swept the five-game series with a 5-3 win over Cuba on Tuesday in Durham, N.C. 



Camarillo twins commit to Cal Poly 


Camarillo High seniors Geraldynn and Geralynn Leaupepe have verbally committed to play basketball at Cal Poly.

The twin sisters made their commitment Sunday night.

Geraldynn Leaupepe averaged 17.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.9 steals, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game last season to help Camarillo capture the Pacific View League title. The 5-foot-9 forward set the program’s single-season rebounding record with 311.

After returning from a knee injury at the start of the season, Geralynn Leaupepe, a 5-8 forward, averaged 16.7 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game.

The sisters shared the league’s Most Valuable Player honors and were first-team all-CIF-Southern Section selections.
