Good PR for farmers

Los OsosJuly 23, 2013

Have you folks out there ever wondered as you are driving through our various farming communities what the crops you are looking at actually are as you are passing them by? Or have you ever wondered where the crops are physically going to end up? Or even what breed of animal is that?

I am always wondering. Are any of our farmers and ranchers out there willing to educate us locals and tourists by posting big signs on their property as an educational service to their community?

The signs don’t have to be expensive. Heck, a big cardboard sign large enough to read from the road would be fabulous. We have so much beautiful bounty out there. I’m sure there are many folks who would love to know what they are actually looking at. (It would be a pretty inexpensive way for the agricultural community to educate us ... might help their business, too.)

Heck, it might even get families to get more involved in 4-H, Future Farmers of America, etc., and open their pocketbooks or at least raise more public awareness of what farming and ranching mean to this county.

As we all know, knowledge is powerful!
