Letter to the Editor

Writers unscientific

San Luis ObispoJuly 23, 2013

Two letters on climate change were published earlier this month by (July 11) and Ralph Bush (July 13). These gentlemen demonstrated that they rely on secondary sources for information on this topic. The content of their letters clearly indicate their sources are against policies to limit CO2 emissions and promote beliefs about climate change that are not supported by scientific evidence.

I would respectfully direct these two gentlemen, and any other individual who does not yet know about or accept the overwhelming scientific evidence for anthropogenic climate change to the following authoritative, science-based websites: http://climate.nasa.gov (in particular the two subtopics on the left column “Evidence” and “Causes”) and http://ncar.ucar.edu/learn-more-about/climate .

Atmospheric CO2 is now at 398 parts per million and is seriously out of balance with the conditions that existed when life as we know it evolved.

I would invite anyone who would like to take effective action with respect to limiting CO2 emissions to check out this website: http://www.citizensclimatelobby.org and then consider joining our local chapter.
