Make Pismo artistic

Pismo BeachJuly 22, 2013

I believe that artsy businesses should acquire the dirt parking lot and dilapidated beach houses in downtown Pismo Beach.

A ferris wheel, ampitheater, or a park would cost too much to maintain, and the beach is not in dire need of attracting more consumers. I think the gap that is missing in downtown Pismo Beach are artsy types of places. You can go to other small beach towns like Cambria, Laguna Beach, Carmel and Capitola, and find more of an artistic feel. Pismo Beach needs more art galleries, trendy and funky restaurants and unique stores. Adding a hotel and national retailers would generate more tax revenue, but would not add flavor to our community.

Pismo Beach is not a place for movie stars and the upper class to get away to. It’s a suburban beach town for all types of families and college students to get away to.
