Police looking for shooting suspect in Nipomo

UPDATE, 5:20 P.M.: The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed it is searching for a suspect involved in an alleged shooting in Nipomo.

According to a news release, witnesses say a man shot toward an unidentified female near Cyclone Street and Grande Avenue at 3:18 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The female then got into the man’s white Chevrolet extended cab pickup, and the driver fled the scene, according to police. There were no reported injuries.

Witnesses say a sticker with a red "V" was on the back of the pickup.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Police are pursuing a suspect following a report of four shots fired between two vehicles in Nipomo on Sunday.

According to police scanner dispatches, officers were pursuing a white or gray Chevy pickup in the area of Grande Avenue and Cyclone Street shortly after 3 p.m. The driver is believed to be a Hispanic male with short dark hair and wearing a white button-up shirt. There may be a female in the vehicle, as well.

According to the calls, four shots were fired between two cars in the area of Grande Avenue and Black Hawk Way. Medical aid was requested to the site.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately able to confirm details of the incident.
