Man dies after jumping off parking structure in downtown SLO

A man jumped off the top of this parking structure at Palm and Morro streets in downtown San Luis Obispo on Thursday.

A man in his 20s died from his injuries Thursday after jumping from the top of a parking structure in downtown San Luis Obispo, police said.

Witnesses at the scene told police the man was alone and appeared to have intentionally jumped from the building, according to a news release from San Luis Obispo police.

The man landed in an alley behind the parking structure at 919 Palm St. He was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident was reported around 4:30 p.m.

The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
