Rock to Pier Run: A day at the beach for local runners

Runners take off from the starting line of the 44th annual Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Run at Morro Rock on Saturday. The 10K race went from the Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier. This was the second year for the Rock’n Around the Pier Half-Marathon that doubled back from the Cayucos Pier to Morro Rock.There were 1,005 finishers in the 10K race, and 214 finishers in the half-marathon.

Connor Fisher, Olivia Carmo, Daniel Aguirre and Rebecca Culter were the individual race winners in Saturday's 44th annual Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Run.

The 10K race went from the Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier. This was the second year for the Rock’n Around the Pier Half-Marathon that doubled back from the Cayucos Pier to Morro Rock.

Fisher won the men’s 10K race in 32 minutes, 32 seconds, and Carmo won the women’s race in 40:5

In the half-marathon, Aguirre was the men’s winner in 1 hour, 28 minutes, 14 seconds, and the women’s winner was Rebecca Cutler in 1:36:12.

There were 1,005 finishers in the 10K race, and 214 finishers in the half-marathon.
