San Luis Obispo Blues beat Santa Maria Reds to end five-game skid

Four San Luis Obispo Blues pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout Friday as the Blues ended a five-game summer collegiate baseball losing streak with a 4-0 win over the Santa Maria Reds at SLO Stadium.

Starter John Marc Shelley threw four perfect innings for the Blues (30-13), Trevor Fitts followed with a scoreless inning, Brett Haringa gave up one hit in three innings and Matt Lynch finished the shutout with a scoreless inning.

Blues catcher Alex Tucker had a two-run single in the second inning to open the scoring.

San Luis Obispo’s other two runs came on errors.

Sean Ullrich had two runs for the Blues, who were held to five hits by two Reds pitchers.
