San Luis Obispo Blues fall to Santa Barbara Foresters after accepting invite to NBC World Series

San Luis Obispo drops their fourth consecutive game with a 6-3 CCL road setback at Santa Barbara

The San Luis Obispo Blues lost 6-3 to the Santa Barbara Foresters on the road Wednesday in summer collegiate baseball, falling in the fourth straight game. 

The Blues (29-12, 14-10 California Collegiate League) were led by Cody Jones, who went 2 for 4 with two RBI, and Aaron Attaway, who was 2 for 3 with two runs. 

Kyle Johnson took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs in 4 1⁄3 innings.

The Blues took a 1-0 lead in the second, but fell behind 4-1 after giving up a run in the fourth inning on a solo home run by Ryan O’Hearn and three in the fifth inning to the Foresters (25-9, 14-9).

Before the game, the Blues received word that they’ve been invited to the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kan., which will be played from July 26 to Aug. 10. 

The Blues went to the NBC World Series last year, going 1-2 in the tournament.
