Fire near Templeton Road burns 12 acres

UPDATE 3:42 p.m. The fire burning along Templeton Road is now out, according to Cal Fire. As of 3:30 p.m., crews remained on the scene cleaning up. The blaze burned 12 acres. Information on its cause and how many personnel responded was not immediately available.

UPDATE 2:45 p.m.: The brush fire along Templeton Road has grown to 10 acres, officials said. Authorities are preparing for possible evacuations, but none had been ordered as of 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to Cal Fire.

Original story: Emergency personnel have responded to a fire along Templeton Road between Templeton and Atascadero. It’s located about 1.5 miles from Highway 41, officials confirmed.

The blaze, now three acres and “moving fast,” according to CHP dispatch logs, was reported just after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Cal Fire is currently on the scene.
