The Santa Paula Halos scored one run in the bottom of the eighth inning and two more in the ninth to walk off with a 4-3 home win over the San Luis Obispo Blues in a summer collegiate baseball game Monday night.

San Luis Obispo starter Corey Ray pitched seven innings, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts. Blues closer Tyler Powell took the loss after giving up two earned runs on one hit and three walks in the ninth.

Will Maddox and West Tunnell both went 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI for the Blues, who fell to 29-10 overall.

Blake Allemand also drove in a run for the Blues, who led 3-0 after two innings.

Jordan Brower, who played last season at Cal Poly, went 1 for 4 for the Halos.

The Blues failed to rebound from a 2-0 road loss to the Santa Barbara Foresters in the championship game of the Rawlings Cup on Sunday.

Despite the loss, the Blues (No. 5) were still ranked well ahead of the No. 19 Foresters in the PerfectGame.org national summer collegiate rankings released Monday.
