Wildfire burns 65 acres in Paso Robles

Update: As of about 7 p.m., the fire had been contained to 65 acres, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson. Cal Fire said crews would remain on the scene overnight to continue putting out the fire.

Cal Fire crews are responding to a vegetation fire off Vineyard Drive south of Adelaida Road in rural Paso Robles.

The fire, which was reported at 1:15 p.m., had spread to 65 acres of grass and oak woodland as of 2:45 p.m., a Cal Fire representative said.

The fire is zero percent contained, but firefighters have stopped its forward spread at 65 acres.

Twelve engines are responding to the fire, and there are no structures threatened as of 3 p.m. Sunday.

The cause is still unknown, and no injuries have been reported.
