Cal Poly junior lefthander Matt Imhof pitched two scoreless innings for USA Baseball’s collegiate national team Tuesday in Boone, N.C. Team USA won 14-0 over the Carolina-Virginia CBL Selects and improved to 10-0 in its summer tune-up schedule. Imhof struck out three, walked one and didn’t allow a hit.

The game was called after six innings because of a mercy rule.

In the six innings that Imhof has pitched in tune-up games, he hasn’t allowed a hit or a run.

Team USA departs today for Japan to play one more exhibition before beginning the 39th Japan-USA five-game series Saturday.

Team USA will play a five-game series against Cuba starting July 18.
