A reported armed robbery at the Coast Hills Federal Credit Union at 532 W. Tefft St. in Nipomo occurred around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

The amount of money stolen is not yet known, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tony Cipolla.

The suspect is a 5-foot-7-inch, heavyset woman who fled the scene on foot. She reportedly had a gun, Cipolla said. She appears to be between 35 and 40 years old and was wearing large blue tinted sunglasses and black vest over a white T-shirt.

Sheriff’s detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene along with the FBI.
