Locals pace Indians to 9-2 home win

Cal Poly recruit Smith has three hits, three RBI; Templeton High grad Frigon adds two hits for North County

The North County Indians summer collegiate baseball team jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first two innings and went on to a 9-2 home win over the visiting Bakersfield Braves on Tuesday at Vineyard Athletic Park in Templeton.

Templeton High product Michael Frigon went 2 for 5, and Cal Poly recruit Alec Smith was 3 for 4 with three RBI for the Indians.

North County pitcher Alex Fargalde threw six innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits, striking out four for the win.

The Indians (12-6) tallied 11 hits and scored three runs each in the second and the fifth innings.
