Panel discussion on Affordable Care Act to be held in SLO

The Latino Outreach Council will host a panel discussion Wednesday on how the Affordable Care Act will affect local citizens and their families.

According to the organization, more than 20,000 San Luis Obispo County residents will become eligible for health insurance on Jan. 1, 2014.

Guest panelists include Susan Polk of Susan Polk Insurance Agency Inc.; San Luis Obispo pediatrician René Bravo of Bravo Pediatrics; Paul Jaconette, chief operating officer of CenCal Health; and Mark Lisa, chief executive officer of Twin Cities Community Hospital.

The discussion will be moderated by attorney Jacqueline del Valle Frederick.

The event is the second in a series of panels hosted by the Latino Outreach Council so far this year to discuss topics that affect the lives of Central Coast residents.
