Coastal Christian School has hired a new principal. Dave Rehnberg, who has served Christian schools and churches for more than 30 years, will succeed Dr. Bob McLaughlin, who was principal at the school for three years.

McLaughlin will remain involved during the private K-12 school’s capital campaign to move to anew campus in fall 2014.

Rehnberg will start work in mid-July after he moves from Washington state. He has taught in Christian schools for 10 years and then worked in elementary, junior high and high school principal positions for the past 11 years.

Rehnberg completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in the area of Christian education at Biola University and received a graduate certificate in graduate work at Tennessee Temple University and Northwest Graduate School.

He most recently completed a master’s of business administration through Walden University and possesses a lifetime administrative certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International.

School officials hope to relocate from leased buildings in Arroyo Grande to a new campus just outside Arroyo Grande and Pismo Beach city limits in fall 2014.
