North County Indians earn walk-off win in the 11th

sports@thetribunenews.comJune 19, 2013

Mac Stuart tripled and scored a walk-off run in the 11th inning, and three relievers backed a terrific start by Kyle Brown, and the North County Indians split a two-game series with the visiting Santa Maria Reds with a 2-1 victory Wednesday in Templeton.

Stuart was 3 for 4 and led off the 11th inning with a triple. Tyler Kollman, hitless in four previous at-bats, drove a single up the middle on the very next pitch to win the game.

The Indians (9-6) scored the tying run in the bottom of the eighth after the Reds had held a 1-0 lead since the top of the first.

Brown, a former Arroyo Grande High standout and reigning Tribune County Player of the Year, allowed one unearned run on seven hits through seven innings while striking out five and walking none.

Louis Carlos, Scott Kaul and Brian Kirkpatrick combined to allow just one Reds hit over the final four innings.
