Something Ridiculous is coming to San Miguel

Special to The TribuneJune 19, 2013

Thursday afternoon at 3, the San Miguel Library Summer Program Series and Librarian Judy will present the awesome spectacle of the Something Ridiculous jugglers, who perform on 7-foot-tall unicycles!

You may have seen them in the Sagebrush Days parade — now watch closely as they juggle bowling balls (among other things) at the Community Building behind the library in the park.

The summer reading program continues until Aug. 4, so there’s still plenty of time to sign up, read some books and be eligible for some neat stuff!

Regular library hours are Tuesdays from noon to 4 p.m., Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m.

Sister Loretta Gueverra has ministered to the people of San Miguel, Bradley and San Ardo in and around the Mission San Miguel parish for 18 years.

A diminutive bundle of incredible energy, she has made many, many friends during her tenure here. She loves people. She loves teaching them, preparing couples for marriage, and others for baptisms, confirmations and quinceañeras (a formal celebratory Mass held when a senorita reaches her 15th birthday).

She was largely instrumental in bringing the worldwide Week of Christian Unity to churches in San Miguel and Paso Robles nearly 15 years ago.

On Sunday, June 30, the 11 a.m. Mass will be dedicated to her. Sister Loretta is moving to her community home at San Juan Bautista and will always keep us in her prayers. She will be greatly missed!
