Santa Maria cools off North County, 3-1

Errors plague Indians in summer collegiate baseball loss

The Santa Maria Reds scored one run in the top of the eighth inning and two more in the ninth to rally for a 3-1 summer collegiate baseball victory over the North County Indians on Tuesday night at Vineyard Athletic Park in Templeton.

The Indians, who fell to 8-6 overall, scored their run in the second inning.

North County starter Evan Peterson tossed seven scoreless innings. The Cuesta College pitcher from Templeton High scattered three hits and struck out two.

Brent Poulin and Josh Ramirez doubled for the Indians.
