The radio voice of Cal Poly men’s sports has purchased a San Luis Obispo soccer supply store.

Tom Barket, who announces Cal Poly football, basketball, and baseball games for ESPN Radio, has purchased SLO County Soccer Store at 1349 Monterey St. for an undisclosed sum, Barket told The Tribune.

The 1,200-square-foot location offers soccer and rugby supplies, primarily to local teams and clubs, and business will continue as usual under the new ownership.

Barket owns the business with his wife, Tess, a teacher at Old Mission School.

The store’s previous owner and founder was Bill Babka of Atascadero, who opened the store in 2005 after his son became a club soccer player, Babka said.
