Car backs into pole at Cambria drugstore

A car backed across the sidewalk and into a pole in front of Cambria Drug & Gift on Friday morning.

No one was injured when a passenger car backed onto a Cambria sidewalk, breaking a wooden pillar in front of Cambria Drug & Gift at about 10:30 a.m.

The store at 2222 Main St. temporarily closed as firefighters tried to ensure no one would be hurt in case the broken pillar led to further structural damage.

CHP was still en route to the scene to conduct in investigation as of 11 a.m. According to a prelinary report, the driver of the car was an elderly male.
