An innocent man

TempletonJune 14, 2013

Is the malevolent spirit of the Salem witch hunts and the Spanish Inquisition alive and prevalent in San Luis Obispo? Unfortunately, that seems to be the case.

Concerning the case of firefighter John Mason, I would like to suggest to both the protesters and The Tribune that they respect American tradition and American law in that an accused person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Mr. Mason was accused and he was tried in a court of law. Was he found guilty by a jury of his peers? No, he was not! Mr. Mason therefore is still an innocent man.

To the protesters who were not in the courtroom every day, you need to put your trust and faith in jurors who did hear all of the testimony.

To the staff of The Tribune, how about not publishing inflammatory articles and just publishing the facts!

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
