Bronco baseball team helps tornado victims

Special to The CambrianJune 13, 2013

The Coast Union baseball team decided at the end of the season to pitch in and help the victims of the horrific tornadoes in Oklahoma, and they set a goal of raising $1,000. That goal was reached last week thanks to a $250 contribution from Gym One of Cambria.

The money will be sent to the Red Cross in Oklahoma, according to assistant coach Steve Kniffen. The team’s attitude was, “we get to go out and play baseball while people whose homes were wiped out in Oklahoma are wondering where they’re going to live,” Kniffen explained.
