Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take calls seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes. This is not a dump 11:34 a.m. June 2, 8100 block of Santa Ynez Avenue
A resident said a neighbor dragged a couch across the street and dumped it on the residents property. That evening, a report was made of a couch dumped on the street in the same area. The citys streets department was notified.
Morning pick-me-up 8:15 a.m. June 3, 7135 El Camino Real
Someone stole doughnuts and energy drinks from Vons. The value was $14.
Sidewalk is safer 11:30 p.m. June 3, 8700 block of Junipero Avenue
A man said he was standing in the street and a speeding vehicle hit him.
Out for a stroll 1:02 p.m. June 4, 2700 Alturas Road
A small black bear was reportedly seen walking down the middle of the road. Officers arrived to check the area but did not see a bear.
Bump it up 6:48 p.m. June 4, 8336 Linda Vista Ave.
A resident claimed his neighbor keeps building a dirt speed bump in the road. The resident reported he removed it, only to discover it was rebuilt even higher.
Roadside snooze 9:03 a.m. June 6, 4507 Del Rio Road
An officer stopped to talk with a person sleeping in a hammock near a vehicle. The person checked out OK; the person was unfamiliar with the area.
Get it outta here! 3:38 p.m. June 6, 8100 block of Santa Ynez Avenue
A blue couch was on the side of the street. Public Works was notified so it could be removed.
Releasing steam 9:27 a.m. June 7, Highway 101
A middle-aged woman was seen yelling out her window at apparently nothing.
Ghostly visitor 9:15 p.m. June 7, 9000 block of Birch Street
A resident heard his front door open and then close, but did not see anyone. The house checked out clear.
Terrible tantrum 10:42 a.m. June 8, 2000 block of Ardilla Road
A person heard a child screaming for help. It was determined the child was upset with his or her parents.
