Cal Poly athletics’ APR remains high

sports@thetribunenews.comJune 11, 2013

Eighteen NCAA Division I programs from 10 different schools received postseason bans for subpar Academic Progress Rate scores, but the Big West Conference escaped unscathed, and Cal Poly continued its tradition of academic excellence.

Nine of the Mustangs’ 20 athletic programs scored 974 or better of a possible 1,000 in the multi-year APR, and 14 of 20 achieved the same for the 2011-12 academic year.

Men’s tennis, men’s and women’s swimming and men’s and women’s golf all had perfect scores, and 13 of Cal Poly’s programs improved their scores from a year ago.
