Summer Collegiate Baseball: Lee helps SLO Blues win thriller over Warriors

Andrew Lee’s two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the San Luis Obispo Blues’ summer collegiate baseball team to a 2-1 win over the California Warriors on Saturday night at SLO Stadium.

The Warriors took a 1-0 lead when Blues starter Max Duvall hit Warriors second baseman Thomas Peters with the bases loaded in the top of the second.

San Luis Obispo’s Zack Domingues and Nick Flair hit consecutive singles in the bottom of the ninth before scoring on Lee’s line drive to center field.

Blues closer Trae Davis got the win, pitching a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts.

Flair was 2 for 4 for the Blues, who improved to 10-1.

Locals lead Indians past Tomahawks

Cuesta College’s Mac Stuart hit a grand slam, recent Templeton High product Michael Frigon went 3 for 5 with two doubles, and the North County Indians rolled to an 11-2 summer collegiate baseball victory over the visiting Salinas Tomahawks at Vineyard Athletic Park in Templeton.

Stuart, a former Paso Robles High standout, launched his grand slam as part of a six-run fourth inning for the Indians, who improved to 3-5.

Indians starter Kyle Brown got the win. The recent Arroyo Grande High graduate pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits with five strikeouts.
