Sean Ulrich hit a two-run triple in the seventh inning to help the San Luis Obispo Blues finish off the visiting California Warriors 5-3 in the opener of a two-game series at SLO Stadium on Friday.

The Warriors used a two-run rally sparked by an RBI groundout and run-scoring single to pull to within 3-2 in the top of the sixth inning.

A Warriors error and a double by the Blues’ Andrew Lee put two on with one out for Ulrich, who came through for his only hit of the evening.

The Blues (9-1) scored their first run when Nick Flair was hit with the bases loaded in the first inning.

The Warriors, who walked nine total and hit two batters, walked in a second run in the first, and Davis Aiken came home on a passed ball in the fourth.

The Warriors picked up a final run against Drake Owenby, who earned the save, in the ninth. Owenby allowed the unearned run on an error by Nick Flair at third, but struck out three in the inning to end the game.

Blues starter Brett Haringa pitched 4 2⁄3 scoreless innings, allowing four hits, striking out seven and walking none.
