Students from kindergarten through high school age can ride the bus for free all summer, the Regional Transit Authority has announced.

The free rides throughout San Luis Obispo County on RTA buses began Saturday, June 1, and continue through Aug. 31.

Students should present their school ID, if they’ve been issued one, and take any RTA, San Luis Obispo Transit, Sounty County Area Transit, Paso Express, Morro Bay or Atascadero Transit ride for no charge.

Routes deliver riders to such locations as Hearst Castle and Hearst Beach in San Simeon, the Cayucos Pier, Morro Bay Embarcadero, Cuesta College and El Chorro Regional Park, Madonna Plaza, Cal Poly and Pismo Beach.
