North County Indians get first win of season in split

The North County Indians got their first win of the season against the Bakersfield Braves while splitting a summer collegiate baseball doubleheader on the road. 

The Indians (1-5) took the first game 8-1, then lost in the second game 5-2. Both games were seven innings.

The Indians’ win was fueled by Mac Stuart, who went 2 for 4 with two RBI and a home run, and Peter Lecce, who was 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBI. 

Brett Clark pitched a complete game, striking out four and allowing one earned run. 

In the second game, Stuart had a double, and Kevin Morgan went 3 for 4 with a double.
