Lions Club barbecues begin
Friday night is the first San Miguel Lions Club Friday night ribs at the Community Building in the park behind the library, from 4 to 7 p.m. The barbecues will be held each Friday night in June. It is only $12 for a take-out or eat-in dinner. Proceeds go to support their projects as well as giving the cook a night off from the kitchen at the end of a busy week.
Quilt of Valor on display
The Quilt of Valor, handmade by Native Daughter of the Golden West Barbara Bruce with help from her NDGW sisters, will be displayed at the Native Sons pre-Fathers Day barbecue Sunday at San Miguel Park from noon to 3 p.m. The beautiful and intricate red, white and blue design took many hours to complete. It is destined to be presented to a veteran to show appreciation for defense of our country.
