The locals got it done for the San Luis Obispo Blues on Saturday.

With the help of two Cuesta College standouts, the Blues (2-0) used a two-run rally in the eighth inning to down the San Francisco Seals 5-4 in a summer collegiate baseball game.

It’s the first of a three-game series for the Blues, who used an RBI triple from Cuesta College’s Taylor Anderson and an RBI single from the Cougars’ Brandon Oliver in the

following at-bat to rally past the Seals in the eighth.

Oliver went 3 for 3 with two RBI, catcher Daniel Garner went 2 for 3, and Andrew Lee went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Anderson also went 1 for 4 with an RBI, and Davis Aiken went 2 for 2 with a run.

Starting pitcher Travis Beck went six innings and allowed two runs on two hits. Eric Walbridge pitched two innings in

relief, giving up two runs on two hits to grab the win. Drake Owenby got the save after pitching a hitless ninth inning with two strikeouts.
