San Luis Obispo Blues open with rout of club team

The San Luis Obispo Blues baseball team began its season with a 16-1 win over Cal Poly’s club team Friday at SLO Stadium.

Cuesta College pitcher Andrew Nelson picked up the win for the Blues, allowing one run on three hits and striking out 11 in 6 1⁄3 innings.

Tyler Anderson was 4 for 5 with three RBI and a stolen base to lead the Blues.

Josh Ramirez was 3 for 3 with two singles, a double and a stolen base, Grant Zawadsky had a triple and four RBI, and Daniel Garner was 3 for 5 with three RBI for the Blues.
