All patient movement at Atascadero State Hospital was restricted for about two days starting Monday afternoon after officials there received a report of a patient with an improvised weapon.

The lockdown was lifted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to an email from ASH spokesman Craig Dacus.

The lockdown started at 4:20 p.m. Monday. According to Dacus, a search was conducted and several objects were located. Further information about what types of objects were found was not disclosed.

Lockdowns limit activity within the facilities by keeping patients inside their sleeping and living units.
