Playhouse to open "Audience With Murder" May 31

The Pewter Plough Playhouse production of “Audience With Murder” opens a five-week run with a preview performance Friday, May 31.

The comedy thriller starts with a seemingly innocuous reading of a new script by an amateur theatre group and bursts into a murder mystery. The Pewter Plough is one of the first theatres in California to produce the play, which was first presented at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.

The cast features Sharyn Young, Tracy Mayfield, Craig Brooke and Toni Young, who have all performed on the playhouse stage. The director is Sandy Bosworth, who has directed a number of plays at the Plough.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. Sundays through June 30 at 824 Main St.
