Antique autos at the Rios-Caledonia Adobe

Friends of the Adobe will sponsor the popular Model A and T Show at the Rios-Caledonia Adobe, 700 S. Mission St., on Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A plethora of shiny antique autos will be on display and you can vote for your favorite. Also enjoy wine tasting, live music, food, a drawing and railroad displays. Admission is free for kids of all ages!

Lions firing up grill in June for fundraiser

San Miguel Lions will be tending the barbecue grill every Friday night in June from 4 to 7 p.m. The event is titled Friday Night Ribs at the Community Building in the park. The dinners include beans, salad, french bread and a dessert, all for only $12. Dine in or take dinner home with you. Proceeds go toward Lions’ projects, including providing free swimming for San Miguel children and adults during the summer. For information, call Lion Mary Scantlin at 458-4320.

Take a dip in the pool Memorial Day weekend

The San Miguel Pool in the park will be open Memorial Day weekend from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday-Monday. Swimming lesson sign-ups begin June 1. Preregistration is a must. Forms can be picked up when the pool is open or can be downloaded on the county website — www.slocounty.ca.gov. Go to “Parks,” then “Facilities,” then “Pools.”

Lions serving barbecue in Shandon on Sunday

San Miguel Lions are also a big part of the cooking crew at the annual Memorial Day barbecue Sunday in the C.W. Clarke Park in Shandon, starting at noon. The dinner menu offers a choice of tri-tip, ribs or chicken.
