The League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County is hosting a forum for San Luis Obispo City Council candidates Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the council chambers, 990 Palm St. in San Luis Obispo.

Three candidates remain in the race: Paul Brown, a police officer in Guadalupe and a former San Luis Obispo councilman; Carlyn Christianson, a former city planning commissioner who is serving her fifth year on the San Luis Obispo County Planning Commission; and Donald Hedrick, an artisan and community advocate.

Ballots for the special vote-by-mail election were mailed to registered voters May 20 and are due June 18. The results will be announced no later than July 12.
