Two people were arrested Sunday after allegedly leading officers on a vehicle chase from Oceano to Santa Maria.

At 6:20 p.m., deputies tried to stop a vehicle driven by Jeanne Sepeda, who was wanted for a felony warrant, at 19th Street and Paso Robles streets in Oceano, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office. Instead of stopping, Sepeda, 32, and her passenger, Steven Vega, 23, fled from deputies by driving through Oceano and Nipomo before getting onto Highway 101 south toward Santa Maria.

The CHP and Santa Maria police took over the pursuit once in Santa Maria city limits.

Sepeda's vehicle then crashed on Broadway and she and Vega ran from the vehicle, according to authorities. They were found and arrested minutes later.

The duo was transferred to San Luis Obispo County sheriff's deputies and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.

According to the jail's website, Sepeda was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing bodily harm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and revocation of probation.
